I’ve been busy working on Scott Joplin<\/a>‘s “The Entertainer<\/a>” full Rookie Song. But I did take a brief detour to do the Playground Sessions<\/a> Facebook Social Media Challenge #QuincyChallenge to celebrate Quincy Jones<\/a>‘ 87th Birthday. Just a snippet of “My Way<\/a>.” Since these WordPress pages aren’t really suited to video media, I decided not to post it here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I do want to put up a small montage of shots in response to a ‘Creative Sauce<\/a>‘ YouTube video where he reviewed a BenQ LED lamp<\/a>. I have an LED lamp on my DAW workstation by LE Power<\/a>, so I took some shots and expanded the grouping to get the Yamaha P-515 digital piano<\/a> too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is my music workstation setup. The LED Lamp allows me to illuminate the MX-49 keyboard<\/a>. Multiple shots show Cakewalk by BandLab<\/a> running, the Mixer and digital recorder are on the left side of the workstation. A TINY Intel NUC computer runs the setup. Finally, my White Yamaha P-515W has audio output to the Mixer, so I can record that too. It is not connected by MIDI, but I do have a Microsoft Surface Pro (2017) so I can record and playback MIDI to it, too.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

I did add a Yamaha FC-3A pedal<\/a> to the Yamaha P-515W to allow pitch bends as necessary, which is more useful for Guitar and Synth voices than piano, but worth having.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
